What is a humidifier?

  1. Evaporative Humidifiers: These humidifiers use a fan to blow air over a moistened wick or filter. The water on the wick evaporates into the air, increasing humidity. The fan then distributes the humidified air into the room.

  2. Ultrasonic Humidifiers: Ultrasonic humidifiers use ultrasonic vibrations to create a fine mist of water particles, which are then released into the air. These humidifiers are generally quieter and can produce either warm or cool mist, depending on the model.

  3. Steam Vaporizers: Steam vaporizers heat water to produce steam, which is then released into the air. They are typically used for respiratory relief and to combat congestion. However, caution must be exercised with steam vaporizers to avoid burns, especially around children.

  4. Impeller Humidifiers: Impeller humidifiers use a rotating disk to break water into small droplets, which are then released into the air as a cool mist. These humidifiers are often considered child-friendly and safer because they do not produce hot steam.
